In my designs I try to show the beauty and uniqueness of the wood I’m working with. I let the piece of lumber create the final look and design for the finished board. No complicated designs using multiple species of wood. Just the variations in the grain structure and the transition from sap wood to heart wood create the design and color variations in the final product. When processing the lumber, I look for unique grain structure, crotches, and knots to use for the charcuterie boards. Here you can easily see the variations and beauty in the boards and the trees they came from.
